Digital Marketing Assistant Review

As a Digital Marketing Assistant at Computacenter, I played an active role in stakeholder engagement, event photography, and corporate headshots. I contributed to the creation of video marketing content, graphic design assets, and was involved in lots of filming and audio production, utilising the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

Yes I was given a great deal of responsibility during my placement. I often worked independently on projects, including filming, photography and content creation. I was trusted to manage tasks from start to finish without constant oversight from my supervisor, which gave me the confidence to take initiative and make creative decisions. My supervisor had full trust in my ability to deliver quality work on time, which made the experience feel genuinely valuable and empowering.

During my placement I developed a wide range of technical and professional skills. I became confident using Adobe Creative Cloud for video editing, graphic design, and audio work, and gained hands on experience in photography and filming. I also strengthened my ability to manage projects independently, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and meet deadlines without supervision.

I received a lot of support and guidance throughout my placement from everyone around me. Mainly from my supervisor, he was brilliant. He was not only knowledgeable and experienced, but also calm, approachable, and easy to talk to. He created a positive and encouraging environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. He gave me the space to work independently but was always available when I needed advice or feedback. His sense of humour and laid back approach made the workplace very enjoyable, and he really helped me build confidence in my abilities. The team I worked in were welcoming and thoughtful, I will miss working with them!

I found the company culture at Computacenter to be very positive and welcoming. The team was incredibly supportive, and I always felt comfortable asking questions or seeking guidance when needed. There was a strong sense of trust and independence, which gave me the confidence to take ownership of my projects. The atmosphere was professional yet relaxed, with colleagues being approachable, friendly, and easy to work with. I also appreciated the emphasis on teamwork and the encouragement to share ideas, which made me feel like a valued part of the team throughout my placement. The office was beautiful and everyone would smile at you wherever you went.
