Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a full stack software engineer, my role involved developing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of web applications. On a day-to-day basis, I began with a morning stand-up meeting where we discussed progress on our assigned tasks. The rest of my day was typically spent working on assigned development tasks this included writing and reviewing code, debugging issues and interacting with the team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a significant amount of responsibility during my internship. I was trusted with owning development tickets from start to finish this included implementing new features, fixing bugs, and writing clean, maintainable code. I also contributed to releasing code to production, which gave me valuable experience in the full software development lifecycle.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, I developed both new and existing skills during my internship. Technically, I improved my proficiency in full stack development, particularly in React and Typescript, and I gained hands-on experience with version control, debugging, and deploying code to production.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
When I first started, I was assigned both a mentor and a buddy who played a key role in helping me settle in. They provided guidance on how to navigate the team and company culture, offered technical support, and shared advice on how to make the most of the internship. Their support helped me quickly get up to speed and feel more confident in contributing effectively.
