Arup encourages all young engineers to network with not only each other but other companies to grow their personal network and knowledge. They do this by running networking events which multiple companies are invited to and it is aimed at young engineers.
People are encouraged to express their interests and hobbies and anyone can take part in the multiple sports that Arup host including football, cricket and squash to name a few and this allows you to interact with people in other teams within the office.
Arup also celebrate and reward both personal achievements (employment milestones, chartership etc.) and company wide achievements (company profit, promotions etc.) together to show what everyone works for and works towards.

What advice would you give to others applying to Arup
Also don't be afraid to get things wrong, you aren't expected to know everything. Engineers in the team are always there to help and your work will always be reviewed and that's when you realise your mistakes and learn from them.
Finally, always review yourself and ask yourself why, why are you doing this calculation, why have you assumed something, because someone down the line will ask you why and you will know the answer. If you know why it means you understand what you're doing and that's when you learn the most.
