Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Corporate tax compliance work involves working with clients to calculate their taxes for the year, can include advisory work

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, i was working with real clients on their proper tax returns and although someone would always review my work, i still felt responsible that my work was up to a good standard

Yes, i have developed computer skills, mainly in Alphatax and Excel, and now know much more about taxes

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A good amount. The team i was in made sure someone else was in the office when i was so that if i had any questions i could always turn to them for help. I was given practice based tasks to and case studies to develop my training skills

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Super friendly here, everyone is approachable and walks around the office with a smile. No one in the team minds when i pester them with questions and ive organised helpful talks with members outside my team too

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I loved it and am so glad that i applied to do it. I feel as though I've now got a good understanding in tax, but also in what working in an office feels like. Plus i've met so many lovely peolple and participated in so many events
