Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Aside from my client work, I also spent about 5/6 hours a week learning. 4 hours of this was towards a certificate learning programme that is carried out by Success Factors learning & accredited by the Chartered management institute. There was also EY specific learning to be carried out on topics such as money laundering prevention & email phishing awareness. You also have the oppurtunity to complete EY badges.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had regular contact with the client team I was working with, as well as my assigned intern Buddy and Counsellor who would check up on me throughout my time at EY to ensure that I was happy, had sufficient work to carry out & to ask if I had any concerns.
The Summer Internship Recruitment team were also available to email at all times if you had any questions or concerns. Mid-placement they had a call with each intern to catch up with them, hear how their experience was going and answer any questions that they may have. The Internship team were amazing and so well organized throughout the whole process you really felt as if you could reach out to them for any minor issue.

The people, the work, the environment were all so enjoyable- I couldn't fault my experience!
Even outside of my regional office, the general summer internship activities were fun & exciting. I feel so grateful that I was able to meet and network with so many other interns from across the UK, it has been really interesting hearing about other people's experiences from across different regional offices.

Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend EY to a friend?
What advice would you give to others applying to EY
My advice to someone applying to EY would be not to worry about trying to learn or memorise the technical & practical service line specific information before or after completing your internship. You will have plenty of opportunity to learn this once you are in the programme- you should focus on networking! Build relationships with your team, other interns, managers, partners- this will be what will set you apart from the crowds and make your EY experience that much more enriching and beneficial for a future career.
