Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working in Customer Protection and Conflict, my role involves analysing customer data and records logged by the team to enhance customer journeys, give support to vulnerable customers who may need special requirements, and developing new solutions to ensure both frontline branch workers and customers are fully supported and safe.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given the responsibility to look over customer records and communicate strategies and insights to my team. This involves gaining a good grasp of the current systems used by the bank, and presenting information in a straightforward and insightful manner.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I was greatly supported by my Buddy, a graduate placement associate, who helped me with onboarding and getting to know the facilities. My line manager provided important resources and contacts to get me started on my work in the bank, and all my team member in my placement project were very supportive and always offered assistance with anything I was struggling with.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture is very friendly. Everyone I met and contacted, regardless of their proximity to me and my team, was always willing to have a chat and help me out in my work. The facilities allowed us to get to know each other not only through coffee chats, but several game areas (pool, darts, table tennis etc.) as well as a beautiful outdoors to go on walks with people.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I found the internship very enjoyable. There were many socials and events to ensure a great work-life balance and to get to know other people. I have made lots of friends and great memories to look back on for a long while. This was a great introduction to the world of work.
