Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Writing SAS and SQL to collect data on customers from databases and provide insights to stakeholders. Usually this is in the form of Excel.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I work with a lot of sensitive and confidential customer information, so I have a lot of responsibility to make sure I handle data with care.
I worked with a variety of stakeholders, some in more senior positions than others. The level of urgency depends on who is asking for the data and how quick they need it.

I had a lot of support when if I ever needed it, including my managers, the members in my team, my early careers managers, and other placement students. I didn't feel like I had to stay quiet.

Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and seemed down to earth, including the more senior managers.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement very much, I loved getting to meet everyone, from the people in my team to other placement students. I was satisfied with the work I was doing and I felt like I was contributing to something meaningful. One thing I wish I could experience better was seeing more placement students in my home office. Most placement students worked in the London office, most of my team was working in Swindon, while I was working in Northampton. I wish I had more opportunities to spend time with everyone.
