Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I participated in a variety of workshops. These included workshops to gain insight into the firm's various practice areas, excel in the assessments for the training contract, and complying with the firm's policies (e.g. data security).
I was assigned a supervisor and trainee buddy who were fantastic. They gave me work involving research, minute-taking, and evidence gathering.
I also had "coffee chats" with different professionals who were all very willing to help.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was both insightful and inspiring. The workshops provided a clear overview of the firm's key sectors and global strategy, while conversations with trainees, associates, and partners offered honest perspectives on the day-to-day realities of different roles and career paths within the firm. Doing so was made easy by the firm’s non-hierarchical structure— everyone, from trainees to partners, was approachable and willing to share their experiences, making me comfortable asking questions.

5/5
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was genuinely collaborative and supportive. People treated each other as friends, not just colleagues, and there was a strong emphasis on wellbeing, with weekly check-ins from the Early Careers team and supervisors that made the environment feel inclusive, caring, and people-focused. Other examples included the fact that my trainee buddy did not have to come in everyday (WFH), but she came in just to accompany me.
