Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I had my own project which I was working on daily, lab-based, as well as being involved in cross project support. Sometimes we were assigned administrative tasks related to team organisation.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Somewhat yes, I was not tasked with work related to critical project deliverables usually, but my project itself helped development for various future projects.

Yes, both lab based technical skills and transferable necessary for working in industry or pursuing an academic career. Such as technical skills in analytical sciences, and transferable skills of team work, time management, science communication, working under deadlines.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Quite a lot, especially with my university work, I had feedback provided regularly as well as regularly updated even senior team members on what I was doing, so their involvement and advice was crucial in achieving successful results.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Its a very good place to be in during this time when Science is so important. People celebrate your work and you get to celebrate other people's work. Very motivating environment that pushes you to develop you as an individual.
