Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role includes monitoring real time alerts and checking all activity related to the alert to conclude if it is malicious or a false positive. Other tasks include looking at the suspicious emails inbox and seeing all reported emails and carrying out checks to decide if they are malicious or not.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given enough support to be able to take full responsibility of the alerts I managed confidently and contributed to the team like the rest of my colleagues. I was able to take full ownership of all the work I completed which increased my sense of responsibility to my work.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was amazing and I could tell everyone really loves working here. The atmosphere in the company and department was lovely so I was able to shadow multiple teams as everyone was so encouraging.

I would recommend applying to whatever interests you as there isn't any barriers to join a specific function. Once your in Nationwide, there are countless opportunities to shadow and upskill if you find something else that interests you as it can be hard to know what you would like to do.
