Sourcing Candidates: Use job boards, social media, and databases to identify suitable candidates for open roles.
Screening Applications: Review CVs, conduct initial phone or video interviews, and assess candidate suitability.
Job Advertising: Write and post job adverts that attract the right talent.
Database Management: Maintain accurate records of candidates and job applications.
Candidate Engagement: Build relationships with job seekers, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the process.
Supporting Consultants: Assist recruitment consultants by preparing shortlists, scheduling interviews, and handling admin tasks.
Compliance Checks: Ensure all pre-employment checks and documentation are completed in line with legislation.

You’re not just assisting—you’re actively managing candidate pipelines, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and ensuring every step runs smoothly. It’s your judgement recruiters rely on when shortlisting CVs, your communication that keeps candidates engaged and informed, and your organisation that ensures nothing slips through the cracks. You'll also handle sensitive compliance tasks like right-to-work checks and GDPR adherence, which are fundamental to maintaining trust and legal integrity. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I was well supported by both my team and a comprehensive learning and development framework. From day one, my colleagues provided hands-on guidance, walking me through core systems, sharing sourcing strategies, and offering constant feedback that built my confidence. Regular catch-ups and team debriefs created a culture where I felt comfortable asking questions and learning from experienced recruiters. Alongside this, I benefited from structured L&D courses that deepened my knowledge of compliance, candidate engagement, and recruitment best practices. These sessions weren’t just box-ticking exercises—they were genuinely interactive, giving me practical tools I could apply immediately. Together, this blend of mentoring and formal training made sure I wasn’t just doing the job—I was growing in it.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture within my team was incredibly friendly and supportive, which made a huge difference as I settled into a new environment. From day one, everyone went out of their way to be welcoming and approachable—there was always someone willing to answer a question, offer a bit of advice, or simply check in to see how I was doing. That sense of camaraderie helped me gain confidence and gradually come out of my shell.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I genuinely enjoyed the entire experience of working as a Recruitment Resourcer—from the fast-paced nature of the role to the connections I built along the way. Every day brought something new to learn, and I loved the sense of momentum that came with juggling different tasks and supporting candidates through their journey. The combination of structured training, real responsibility, and a warm, supportive team created an environment where I could thrive and grow with confidence. It was rewarding to see the impact of my work and feel like a valued part of the team. Looking back, it wasn’t just a job—it was an experience that shaped my skills, boosted my confidence, and confirmed my passion for people-focused work.
