Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Vacation Student within the Strategy and Economics Team, over a four-week Internship period. Working extensively on acquisitions, contributing to final reports, and presenting my research in team meetings. Providing commercial advice for clients, conducting due diligence in Excel, and creating my own proposals.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given lots of responsibility during my Internship, from analysing information for clients to developing my own proposals for a bid. I felt I was a valued team member and contributed to work from many different sectors.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Through reviewing financial models and conducting due diligence, I have developed my knowledge of advanced Excel functions and ability to analyse financial data. I have also created proposals in PowerPoint and presented my reports in team meetings.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My manager oversaw the work I completed throughout the entire duration of my Internship, supported by weekly check-ups. I was able to ask any questions, or advice I required. The team was supportive and approachable.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is friendly and welcoming, supported by an equal, inclusive and diverse environment. I highly enjoyed my Internship, surrounded by a supporting team and exciting opportunities. I was able to work primarily within the energy and sustainability sector, contributing to live projects.
