Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work as a Remortgage Paralegal, where I deal with my own caseload of files and assist others with their files. I create mortgage reports, deeds, do searches, as well as speak to clients, brokers and mortgage lenders by phone and by email daily.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my program immensely. My team has always been incredibly supportive and kind, and I can't imagine ever receiving the same amount of support anywhere else as I do here. I have learnt so many valuable skills and greatly appreciate everyone during my apprenticeship who has helped me get to where I am now.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed a lot of computer skills as I now understand a lot more about Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. I have also learnt new shortcuts. I have learnt what a remortgage is, how it works and how to complete one from start to finish.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship is structured very clearly and you almost always know what you are going to be doing next. You receive a clear deadline for any work which helped me stay organised. There were only a few periods of time, mainly towards the beginning and end of my apprenticeship, where I was unsure of what was happening next.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been incredibly supportive throughout my entire apprenticeship. I have always felt that I can go to her whenever I needed any assistance or whenever I had any queries, and it felt great knowing there was always someone I could rely on.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider was excellent, she would thoroughly explain each task and the criteria through both virtual and physical meetings which was a great personal touch. She was always ready to answer any emails and help support me whenever I had issues or questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like my qualification has allowed me a chance to grow and learn what the responsibilities of my role involve and the standard that I need to work at. I am appreciative that my apprenticeship has given me an overview of what it is like being a Remo Paralegal.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Recently, there have been a lot more extra-curricular activities set up for employees. Some of these include a social and cultural committee, games nights, and we also have events that happen during work days such as Summer BBQ and a Sort Summer mixer.

Why?
I believe the help and support I have received here has really improved my skills. I did not imagine I would enjoy my job role as much as I have. The team are lovely and create such a positive working environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sort Legal?
I would advise people to just be themselves, even if it does sound corny.
