Assistant Civil Enginer Review

I am responsible for producing flood risk reports, drainage design, pavement design with a range of developments in different sectors. A day within this role may include producing 2D and 3D designs and models for drainage and site levels, attending meetings via teams or on site

My degree apprenticeship works on a day release basis and allows my work and university to be structed well. The program works well by not overloading me with work and having work mainly based around coursework. Jasper Kerr also provide great support and allow me time to structure project work around university when needed.

I have amazing support from my employer, with a set mentor who helps guide me through both my work on projects and university. We have frequent meetings to discuss progress and any issues, planning out how Jasper Kerr can assist in my apprenticeship.

I have regular meetings with my workplace mentor and someone from the university to discuss progress, ensuring I can remain on track.

This gives me a great background to wider construction than just civil engineering, which can directly be linked to my day to day tasks.

I have seen my career progress massively since joining Jasper Kerr, they have given me great opportunities to take on a leadership role and manage projects independently whilst also getting great support when needed. I've found it to be great place to continue my apprenticeship, with senior members helping me to plan meeting my degree units, including my dissertation and CEng with the ICE.
