Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My main role is to ensure my clients at Davenports are comfortable with the financial side of their business. This includes completing VAT Returns, Year End accounts and CIS Returns. I will chase for paperwork and ensure they have an understanding of the tax they pay and why they have to pay it.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship , I don't think about work or college as a burden. I enjoy coming into work and helping my clients and learning new skills on the way to being qualified.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have learnt new skills such as stronger communication and working as apart of a team. I have developed my IT skills learning new software's and skills which will be useful for my career going forward.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think my programme is very well structed with college benefitting me in the workplace and the work I do benefit to my understanding at college. This combination really helps and I think this structure means that I benefit with one whilst doing the other.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. I feel like there invested in me as a person and want me to strive and grow within the business. I also feel as if they support me by helping me with revision and giving me time off when needed to revise.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel as if I got a lot of support, I can go in when needed and always email my tutor to which I get speedy responses. I feel as if they want me to strive and aren't afraid to tell me if I'm lacking which I think is something which I benefitted from when I was falling behind.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think it allows me more confidence when I'm telling a client because I know I am correct and can back myself. I also think it adds something when I respond to an email that I have a higher level qualification .
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes I have been to a few professional networking events and we regularly do staff social nights.

I feel as if to get through an apprenticeship , Davenports are invested and create a structure specifically for you to give you the highest chance of passing and enjoying yourself in college and work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Davenports Group Ltd?
I think if you come into it with a clear head and are ready to learn then Davenports will support you in a way which will help you strive and pass exams and learn whilst working.
