Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, I will complete take offs and input these measures into a cost plan which will then have rates put against these items. As well as this during the construction phase I will visit the site to review the progress and compare this to the contractors application. With this information I will then advise the client accordingly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme as it allows me to use the skills and behaviours that I am learning in my course in real life work. This helps expand my knowledge and skills as I can take what I have learnt on my apprenticeship and input it into my day to day work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my degree apprenticeship I have gained confidence and learnt how to communicate with the client involved in the project. This allows me to give helpful and useful advice to the client during the projects to comfort them and ensure their understanding of the works is correct.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well structured as I will spend one day a week completing my study work. This is the right amount of time as I can complete all the work set and not worry about the time allowance and recommended time spent on my studies.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive the support that I need from my employer as they will make sure I understand all the work that I am apart of and contributing with. This broadens my understanding within projects and allows me to understand the process from start to end. They also provide me with guidance on my Uni work whether this is with assignments or just weekly learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

During my Uni course I will sit down with my colleagues to speak through and make sure I understand the weekly learning and how to answer upcoming assignment questions. This allows me to feel comfortable with the programme and helps me get towards the qualification I am training for.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification I am training for allows me to perform better in the work place as I can take my learning into real life scenarios. This will widen my knowledge around areas within a project that I have been learning about as I will get real life experience from this.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There many networking events that my company get involved with and invited to. This broadens my relationships with different company's and contractors that I may be involved with in different projects. As well as this there are social events that take place within my work that allows me to connect with my colleagues and brings the team together.

Why?
Coreus provides a very close working team. This can be within my team of quantity surveyor's and other job roles within the business. This is created through team and company socials that bring the company together as one, Everyone works closely with each other and shares the work they are currently doing to allow the rest of the business to have an understanding of the works that are taking place in different sectors and areas. As well as this, colleagues are very supportive of the work that you are completing, they ensure you understand what is happening and that you are aware of what needs to happen in order for you to progress,
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Coreus?
Tips that I would give are, that you shouldn't be afraid to ask for help if you don't know or are unsure on the work you are asked to complete. This will widen your understanding of your role within the company and allows you to progress with your job role. As well as this, another tip would be to get involved with as many team / company socials as you can as it allows you to grow closer to the people working around you. Making you feel more comfortable and confident with the work that you are required to complete.
