Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Ensuring the office is tidy and welcoming for clients and visitors.
Working closely with every department within the organisation.
Demonstrating assertiveness and using my judgment to de-escalate situations.
Assisting clients with various, important applications and CV building.
Using organisational skills for digital and physical filing.
Consistently checking for changes in procedures or legislation.
Understanding the regulatory landscape and maintaining compliance in all aspects of my work.
Reporting maintenance issues to the correct stakeholders and ensuring jobs are completed.
Identifying safeguarding concerns in clients and liaising with Project Workers to resolve them.
Ensuring budget control and the provision of appliances and cleaning supplies for properties.
Using my experience living in supported accommodation to identify the needs and struggles faced by clients.
Liaising with clients to anticipatorily mend issues or determine causes before reporting jobs to the maintenance team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find that my programme has allowed me to display and learn new skills and knowledge. I enjoy the course and very much enjoy my work placement and I aim to continue working here. This is a great introduction to the charity sector and I have made a positive impact on my local community

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I had the opportunity to learn and put into practice a wide range of skills, such as assertiveness, confidence and organisation. I was encouraged to develop my skills through hands-on learning at my workplace and was able to assist our clients, whilst doing this. I will continue to learn and develop my skills within my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The support provided is very flexible, I am an independent learner, although whenever I needed it, support from my employer and training provider was available to me. I have been encouraged to coach my colleagues and other apprentices with areas that I a proficient in. There is a clearly defined support structure, although I am able to ask any colleague for help, if needed.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has provided me with adequate support, including the implementation of a support plan when I was struggling to manage my workload. I am entering EPA gateway and I am confident that I will succeed.
