Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Using QA & QC methodologies, I implement effective contributions that ensures quality is assured on assigned projects. Tasks: Client specification reviews, create ITP's, facilitate and investigate non-conformances, complete project packages, perform QC inspections, welding inspections, create process flow maps, internal and supplier auditing, maintain and monitor calibration registers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Each day brings new tasks which allows my knowledge and skills of the industry to be tested. I often need to research against compliance to relevant British and International standards.
I enjoy working in team to ensure that outstanding tasks are completed on a timely manner and to a high quality.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Understanding of British and International standards.
Understanding of commercial impacts on a given project.
Producing high-level reports for directors.
Completed a certified welding inspection course, CSWIP 3.1.
Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
Health and safety whilst in the factory or at a clients site.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured, I have progress reviews with my Teesside University mentor every 3 months. I understand what is required from me to complete the bachelors degree and the apprenticeship. I understand the process to follow if I require additional support from my training provider or employer.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am given the amount of support I am required, my direct line manager ensures that I am understanding my current university modules and provides support if required. My employer is flexible with working time if I require to prioritise apprenticeship related tasks. I have been given a works laptop and specialist software's to complete my degree apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

As mentioned in question 4, my trainer provided has provided all the relevant information regarding additional support. My university lecturers are open to meetings via teams or in person to provide additional support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am more determined to succeed in my job role as completing the higher level apprenticeship requires myself to be more self-sufficient and perform focused. I am learning new knowledges through my degree modules which can be directly applied to my daily tasks and internal projects.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My company is heavily involved in charity fundraising events for local charities. Social activities are planned such as bowling, hiking, family fun days.
