Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I will complete tasks that will get uploaded to a help desk. Tenants reporting issues. I will also complete pre planned maintenance tasks with the onsite engineer throughout the day. I also will fill out logs and folders once I get the chance to
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy working. Sometimes it gets a lot with travel including and long days. I have had a great experience with working with others onsite. I’ve developed good relationships with all engineers and managers during my time. Which can be beneficial for me further down the line
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed a good knowledge of the electrical equipment in multiple different buildings. I have also grasped a knowledge of other types of equipment such as mechanical equipment. This has helped me improve as a engineer so I have greater knowledge in all aspects of the whole building
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised, there are training days with the company where they will put you on to learn new things and get a greater understanding of important things on site. I have a log book where I will fill in from experiences that I have had onsite.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received very good support from my employer , I’ve been supported in all aspects with meetings about things I am concerned about. Regular catch ups to discuss my progression and any concerns I have onsite.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The college have provided support during my apprenticeship. There has been times where there has been issues with the qualifications and the college have provided good support in overcoming the issues
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification through my training provider helps me learn the more scientific side of the course. I will learn calculations and equations that you wouldn’t learn onsite. You get a better understanding of how things actually work and how to calculate that
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a summer and Christmas work party, where everything you could ask for is provided. Which is a lovely gesture from the company.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jaguar Building Services?
It is a great company. A lot of employee benefits and some great people onsite and in the office. You will make connections that can and will benefit you further down the line
