Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Depends on the job of course. Some days I’m first fixing, some second fixing or final fixing. I work with a mentor and watch over him to learn new things and I also do my own tasks of what I’m capable off

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme a lot. The apprentice pay is good. The support is 10/10. I personally could not see another company doing a better job the LJ construction

Defiantly I’ve learnt so many things and developed multiple skills since becoming an apprentice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised and structured. Everything is explained clearly so every apprentice knows what to do.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5

Quite a lot. If I have any problems I know I can call multiple people from my company.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Quite a lot support. I get weekly update emails. Calls and texts to see how my progress is going and it is going very well aswell.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training provider has taught me a lot. Mainly health and safety what is the biggest concern for construction workers.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The only one I’m aware of is the annual Christmas party. But I believe there is others.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LJ Construction Carpentry Contractors Limited?

I’m not sure what tips I would give, but one word of advice is only apply if your serious about this career as LJ and put a lot of money and time into each of their apprentices to give them the best start possible.
