Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a level 3 apprentice. i shadow other qualified electricians and learn from them as well as experiences. i have a little responsibility and am tasked with my own jobs from time to time completing them from start to finish. i mostly work in industry level electrics mostly working on metal work and containment
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it to the highest extent a job can be enjoyed. i work with people who make day to day easy and the type of work i do engages me so i don’t ever lose interest.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes a lot of new skills that i don’t believe i would’ve got elsewhere. as well as perfecting the basics i have a more in depth experience about higher level electrics and am challenged to produce high quality work at this level.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Pretty well organised. communication is key in the industry we work in and due to the tight knit nature of the company this is not an issue. problems (if there are any) are sorted quickly and without issue and work and college is structured well so i am able to produce good work through both.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A good amount of support both with the job and college side of the apprenticeship. the communication is good with college and anything extra i may need is always sorted. if there is a struggle or i need a bit more of a challenge these are also easily sorted.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A decent amount. Sometimes it’s challenging but they have stepped up this year with the right measures to make sure my employers are always up to date with everything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
When qualified i will be more confident in my ability and more able to take jobs and challenges on off my own back.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
A few quarterly meals here and there for congratulating certain targets met as well as an annual party at christmas to celebrate achievements etc.
