Every day is different. The Marketing Coordinator role involves managing social media, the website, SEO, analytics, charity initiatives, and internal employee engagement. It's an office-based role within a supportive operations team that shares knowledge around different roles and the business, allowing growth and career progression across various job functions.

I started at JLES as a Level 3 Admin Apprentice and worked my way up to a Digital Marketing Degree Apprentice. JLES has boosted my confidence and equipped me with valuable skills, including time management, financial literacy, email etiquette, critical thinking, resilience, networking, and a deep understanding of business operations.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

JLES has designed a well-structured apprenticeship scheme, partnering with excellent training providers like MMU. They ensure students receive full support and access to essential resources, helping them complete their courses to a high standard. The combination of workplace experience and academic learning creates a strong foundation for career success.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

JLES provides strong support through quarterly reviews, offering guidance on career progression and a clear path within the business, with regular informal meetings where apprentices can seek further guidance. With over 30 apprentices at JLES there’s a community within the business always willing to assist with questions and support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

MMU is an excellent apprenticeship provider, offering outstanding support throughout the programme. Each student is assigned a dedicated skills coach, ensuring quick and helpful responses—I never waited more than an hour for assistance. Their commitment to student success made my experience with MMU extremely positive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Starting with no experience in admin or marketing, my qualification has been invaluable in helping me excel at JLES. I’ve become a key member of the operations team and a go-to contact for new staff. It has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to perform my role effectively.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

JLES’ culture is all about giving employees real-world skills and allowing people to push themselves outside their comfort zone, so networking events are a big part of the experience. I’ve attended multiple industry events. Regular outings take place such as, weekend trip/city breaks, football games, golf. JLES ensures it supports charities which resonate with employees and give employees the chance to be involved.

I’ve recommended JLES to many people because they genuinely care about and value their employees. The positive workplace relationships make it a great environment. The directors actively support us, regularly checking in to ensure we’re happy and always looking for ways to improve based on employee feedback.
