Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is a Digital Marketing Degree Apprentice at Healthwatch Essex. My day-to-day role includes: creating and scheduling social media, uploading blogs, creating leaflets, books, magazines, etc when given, go to events to do with health and social care with colleuges and create live social media tories and posts, communicating with my team and other teams on projects and so much more. My work week consists of one study/university day; the rest is either working from home, completing the tasks I listed above, or doing this in the office.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Yes, I very much enjoy my apprenticeship at Healthwatch Essex. I couldn't ask for a better supporting workplace. My workplace always wants me to progress and succeed, which I am very thankful for, giving me opportunities and challenges to help me progress in my apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I developed many different skills and am still developing some to this day. For example, when I started my apprenticeship, I didn't know much about video editing, and with the right directions given to me and support provided I can now comfortably say I can edit a short or long video independently. At the moment one of my main skills I am trying to work on is my confidence in public speaking which all staff at Healthwatch Essex has been very supporting of, giving me more opportunities to present my work, and share to collect feedback and taking part in a development day, learning what I can say to someone if I am at a stall not knowing what to say, when feeling not very confident.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well structured with four days a week working either in the office or at home, then one day a week being my study day, where I get given the day to keep up to date with my university work or lectures going on. My programme is always organised as my manager and I will plan out in advance what I need to do each week and what my schedule may look like in future weeks.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer for my development and growth at work. Ever since I started my apprenticeship, I have always been welcomed to ask questions whenever I need and seek support. My employer and workplace always want me to progress, and always check in with me if I need support with anything, which I find very comforting.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
University supports me, but I would say my workplace and employer do support me better, as my employer reaches out to me, making me more confident in seeking support. University is good for providing support, but I always have to go and try and find this support,t which can take some time trying to email the right people.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think my training helps me perform better in my role, as it's teaching me new things all the time about theories, marketing strategies, and so much more. Which I then bring to work and try and suggest as many new things as I can to help improve our marketing and work as a team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At work, I get involved with going to outreach events with different team members that I wouldn't usually interact with on a day-to-day basis. These events help me network with new people and engage with the organisations consumers, as well as put my skills and what I have learnt into practice.
