Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It was a varied job role. Day-to-day involved managing social media accounts, however there was also involvement in design work for campaigns, video editing, podcast production, press release writing and media management, and updating the website.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It provided valuable work and learning experience with a range of opportunities to get stuck in.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I learnt a lot of new skills in this job. I learnt copywriting which helped with the press releases and website updating. I learnt basics of SEO and PR as well. I also developed my skills in social media, video production and editing, and graphic design.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
From the university’s side, not well structured at all. From Healthwatch Essex’s side it was well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
The CEO and my manager provided support throughout.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Not much, the university felt as though we were a tick box exercise. The tutors were very helpful with reviewing assignments though.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It gave me a deeper understanding of the theory behind different elements of my work and how elements of digital marketing can be combined and applied together.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, the company held monthly development days for team building exercises. I was also given the opportunity to do work experience elsewhere in my final year.
