Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I assist in the financial and technical aspects of contracts including
procurement, invoicing and payment to minimise costs & maximise value. I also have to ensure tenders are prepared by measuring and calculating rates. I have to keep track of costs and values of different jobs to produce a monthly CVR.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed the last 2 years working at Bell Group to the maximum. I have met so many new people during my time here that I consider as some of the best people I have ever worked with. The memories I have made will stay with my for a lifetime.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My apprenticeship has taught me so many new skills that I never had before. It has taught me social skills that i had always struggled with before that I love having now. It has also taught me the how to use specialist measuring tools that I wouldn't know how to use before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
During my apprenticeship, I have constantly been reassured about where I'll be heading. I have been made aware of the upcoming assignments, deadlines and assessments. Everyone has made sure that I am aware of how I will be finishing my course and what I have to do to pass.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer has been really supporting all the way through my course. They have helped me with both my work and college work giving their input and helping me where I didn't understand. This has been really helpful for me as I needed that reassurance on whether I was doing the right thing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider has been really helpful with my qualifications. Whether it was face to face, over email, or on the phone, they were always there to help me progress through my apprenticeship. There has been times where I have struggled with the work and they have helped me in all the ways that I have needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has introduced me into the construction and built environment world. It has allowed me to gain knowledge, terminology and general confidence in my role at work. This has allowed me to progress into a bigger role at work that I could never dream of happening in the first two years I have worked here.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have been involved in multiple after work social events that I am ever so grateful for being invited to. I have also been involved in charity sports events that is something I have always dreamed of doing. This something that was never implicated at places I have worked before so it was really exciting to be invited to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Bell Group Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Bell Group have been absolutely brilliant to me over the past 2 years. I would recommend them to anyone who has an interest in getting involved in construction as they are a great starting point but also there is plenty of opportunities to grow into if you wish to stay.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bell Group Ltd?
Be friendly and respectful. Show knowledge of the role and the trade that you are applying for. Do some research of the business as they are quite big in other areas and don't just do painting. Also be confident as they have some of the kindest people working for them.
