As a Trainee Surveyor in the planned maintenance sector of construction, On my sites I oversee and coordinate all on-site activities to ensure works are carried out safely on my, efficiently, and to the required standards. A key part of your responsibility is managing health and safety under CDM 2015 regulations, which includes preparing and implementing the Minor CPP's, carrying out site inductions, and ensuring that all operatives wear appropriate PPE. I coordinate subcontractors, schedule works such as external groundworks and landscaping, property refurbishments. Communication is vital—I liaise with the client, residents, subcontractors, and resident liaison officers to keep everyone informed and address any concerns. Daily, I monitor the quality and progress of the works, maintain accurate site records, and respond to any issues or delays. I'm also responsible for keeping documentation like RAMS, site diaries, and safety logs up to date. As a trainee in this role, I am learning how to manage a live site, especially in occupied homes, while balancing time, cost, quality, and safety.
