Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Planning and conducting early stage discovery work and business tests in order to de-risk investment into future projects and ensure solutions are truly solving our customers needs. Consists of activities such as customer interviews, salesforce feedback and shadowing customers on 'a day in their life' to uncover what frustrates them at work and if we can make their jobs easier. Also assisting with the back-end of projects via creating commercial documents and training the salesforce.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes lots of responsibility! Was given the opportunity to lead on projects and make decisions. But also had a lot of support from my line manager and was challenged lots but not too much that it was stressful.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Improved on balancing multiple responsibilities and communication skills- particularly presenting to diverse audiences. Learnt the importance of setting SMART objectives and keeping stakeholders updated on progress for projects to manage expectations.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had a weekly 1 to 1 with my line manager to go over anything that i was struggling with or was creating blockers for me, preventing me from doing meaningful work. Always was encouraged to take the lead but had enough support when needed.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Really good! Everyone is very friendly and happy to help and have a chat. We have monthly 'coffee talks' where we get paired up with a random member of the business in any country and personal developments chats like that are really encouraged. There's lots of interns, graduates and apprentices so a nice network of early careers- We did about one social a month and made good friends!

Be yourself in the video interview- they are looking for someone who seems friendly and approachable, not for perfect robotic answers! Ask lots of questions if you make it to the assessment center and connect with people on LinkedIn to ask questions and show your interest.
