Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Performing audit work for a variety of clients for multiple FSLIs. This involved reviewing documents, enquiring with clients and applying professional scepticism.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This programme is enjoyable as you are able to apply your learnings from university in practical audit work. However, I would note this course isn't easy and does require a lot of time in order to succeed which may cause you to miss out at times with university social events and you should expect to work overtime whilst on placement.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have developed a variety of skills such as time management, analytical skills and communication skills with clients.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

This course provides a good balance between university learning and practical work experience allowing to develop and apply your learnings to real world applications. However, I do believe more communication is required between the university and the employer as at times it leads to clashes in schedules and deadlines.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

On this programme you receive substantial support from my employer. This support includes being paired with career coaches, buddies, flying start champions, programme managers and university staff giving you with a wide network to reach out to if you need to. Regular check-ins with career coaches whilst on placement ensures you are progressing and learning throughout placement.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive support from the University and ICAEW through the university teaching the content for our professional exams whilst the ICAEW provide workbooks and textbooks to support this learning
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training provided enhances my accounting knowledge which I can then apply to my practical work on placement. This ensures you are able to apply professional scepticism whilst completing audit tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, whilst on placement there are a variety of clubs you can join. Additionally, there was a variety of core audit and dedicated flying start events and socials I went to.

PwC has a strong client base allowing you to experience audits in a variety of sectors additionally there is a strong support structure at PwC.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Have an open mind going into the course and take any opportunities given to you to develop your skills. However, please be aware that this course does require a large amount of time to be dedicated to it in order to succeed.
