Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
completing admin such as tickets and invoices, calling customers. dealing with facebook and tiktok posts. making drinks
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
I started out being very enthusiastic about the program, and over time i lost enthusiasm due to issues in branch.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have become more confident in talking to people, and my knowledge on systems has improved, including phones and printers. communication skills have improved using methods such as email, facebook and phone calls to communicate with customers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
we have set training days sent out on a schedule to us, however, this is subject to occasional changes. We went through many trainers, meaning some content has been moved or recapped several times. communication when applying was not clear but once in, it is somewhat better.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
recently, due to my numerous issues, i have received more help and encouragement from my trainer who has also used other departments to assist me. in branch support is not always as clear.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
we have a trainer who will assist you with BUD tasks (evidence for qualifications) and who can be in your training sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
outlines what is expected of us as an apprentice and as a future employee
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
as an apprentice, we were told about cruise ship viewings, but this hasn't happened. Also getting offers for educational trips is slim as you commonly have to be chosen or meeting targets and expectations. informal work events with your colleagues such as night outs and dinner meets can be common.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Hays Travel to a friend?
No
Why?
felt the scheme is possibly more of a tick box rather than something purposely built.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hays Travel?
be prepared - there is a lot to learn and a lot of pressure will be put onto you. Customers will also not always be nice, with some being inpatient and blaming you for issues.
