Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to fabricate pipes on a nuclear submarine which I am learning during my apprenticeship which involves a lot of manual skill development practicing hand tool skills and learning maths and material/health and safety at college.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my program as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m learning about things I genuinely am interested in and want to improve on

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills such as proper techniques to operate tools and machinery and also developed my knowledge and skill outside of physical activities and improved my maths and still improving it.

My program is very organised and structured as we have objectives and tasks to complete and can see our progress along the way
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a-lot of support from my employer and they have systems in place to get help if you need it and you feel like you can be open about everything.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support and guidance towards it however sometimes there can be a lack of tutors
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me understand what is expected and my role more as I’m physically learning and mentally learning about the role I am expected to do
