Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
processing data using corporate specific tools to inform a commander's decision making
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
It is a slog and my training hasn't prepared me for it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
1/5
Developed using miccrosoft excel and writing reports.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I have no problems with it. My assessors and mentors have always been reasonable and the coursework seems fine.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
My trade training genuinely taught me none of the curriculum. Sections in question banks that ask "what did you learn in your training" are always blagged, because I have never sen what its asking for. this is common among my peers. I want the program to stay and I want the qual but its not fair that I'm not given any development in the KSBs, unlike the other trade in our corps. Beyond trainign coaches and mentors are very useful, because they can how me where to look to find what I should have been taught or shown before.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
enough. my assessor is Pearson staff and I have found her to always be reasonable and supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It definitely helps, I am able to apply the KSBs to my job. But my job doesn't help with the qualification, funnily enough.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Plenty. I'd count cross country as masochism/torture rather than an activity, but I suppose it technically counts and they've got me doing more than enough of it. I have colleagues who reprpesent us in 3 different sports teams and who organise and compete in the Perudo World Championships. I will attend a conference later this month with the other people in my trade.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The Army to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I don't stop telling people that 14 sigs is the best regiment in the army. I don't like England and its in the point of Wales that is the furthest away from it. The scenery is amazing, the people are lovely, the life outside of work is brilliant. Its a 4 day working week and I only actually spend half my time here because of the number of courses I am able to get on, thanks to the support of my chain of command.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Army?
If you spend more than 3 weeks in a row here you're doing brawdy wrong, so apply for AT, trainging courses, sports training and maximise your growth.
