Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Each day I go to lessons (practical and theory) to develop my understanding and knowledge of what is required from my role within the royal air force.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The programme is challenging, however I strive because of the challenge. My personal disliking is still being treated very similar to a child. And there are long hold periods where the trainee's take a pause in training because the Royal air force can't find enough staff to teach.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
A lot, I had no previous aeronautical experience before hand.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well, we receive time tables weeks in advance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot of SPLD support, which I received myself personally for dyslexia.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Not a lot, I get some sessions to check everything is okay but I don't really know what to do otherwise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It relates perfectly to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is a lot due to being armed forces.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RAF to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Other than the long hold times of no progression the actual operation is run well.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RAF?
Understand that training is not the same as the real airforce.
