Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves completing learning assignments and courses to gain the knowledge required to do my work tasks such as data discovery/analysis, developing code and testing. Along with maintaining regular communications through stand-ups, calls, messages and emails with friendly team members who are happy to help when asked.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The apprenticeship is very enjoyable as I am able to work on projects which tangibly consolidates my learnings. However, the course material itself can be a bit broad/vague for my job role and sometimes inconsistent with the Live classroom events.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Many available learning pathways and courses through the company learning streams. Through this and doing project work, data analysis and software development skills have been developed, along with improvements in communication skills and usage of project management applications.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Obvious attempt to maintain structure/organisation of the programme, however some inconsistencies still remain. Live events can stray from the course material in attempts to make it more relevant which sometimes can cause confusion, but mentor is indeed open to any questions when asked.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Employer allows time to focus on learnings and is open to allow more if required and possible. Questions are encouraged and help from team members is readily available, along with providing learning pathways and company guidelines for any knowledge gaps.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Training provider is happy to answer any questions, especially during calls, but can take a while to respond to emails. Live event mentor offers assistance during live classes and is open to doing so after also.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Qualification helps perform better in the role as it establishes software development methodologies which can be used, however the language specific classes are less relevant but can still apply the general software design aspects learnt.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Many extra-curricular activities to get involved in. Company often hosts a variety of events, both business wide and apprentice specific activities such as networking events and socials organised by the apprentice council.
