Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My Role is to provide consistently efficient PE Lessons to primary school children following lesson plans. As well as running 3 sports clubs a day : morn, lunch, after school - offering a variety of different sports for the children. In addition to taking children to events throughout the year.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
My program is very enjoyable because of the different experiences I am given in different school, the different coaches I get to meet as well as children to coach. The experience gained has stood out to me however I’ve found the course work less motivational.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of new skills in my teaching, presenting, behaviour manageing, organisation, communication, as well as developing my sports coaching with a variety of different training.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I think the program is very well organised because of the trust format, that allows us to be put into different schools for work, this excels our experiences learning from different coaches and teaching in different types of schools.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support from our employers doesn’t go unrecognised, as they are always looking to develop our skills and coaching badges. With course work, we are given 3 hours to meet together on Wednesday mornings. This is a great opportunity to talk about things we might be struggling with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Weekly check ups have been put in place from the training providers which is very needed. Support is always available from them as well as pushing us to the next step.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
With knowledge and understanding of different tactics, teaching styles, behaviour management styles. The training providers have helped with information around teaching that can excel our development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, every year there are social events run by the sports department for all the coaches, as well as the individual schools running their own with is also available to me.
