Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Very hands on, this includes test, review and possibly some build. The role still comes with admin however, its quite small amount.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really enjoy coming to work as I don't know what ill be doing that day. There is quite a lot of responsibility which is really good as it challenges your knowledge.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Many skills that i have learnt have really developed since joining. Lots of root cause analysis, basic and intermediate knowledge of electrical systems circuits and developed understanding or RF (radio frequency).

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Its good as there was a plan for the apprenticeship, however, people get busy then plan fall through. Seems like its just needs that extra organisation and structure.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots of support, if there is a problem with college or even if I need to catch up on college work/assignments they understand and will give me some time at work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Its really good to be around such knowledgeable people. This really aids me in my qualifications as I can siphon information when I'm shadowing them. Also if I am stuck on a question on my assignment they will push me in the correct direction.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification is good for a basic understanding for work, however, most of my learning is from work. This is because what I do at work is quite unique. So some of the course doesn't really have relevance for work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The whole team is extremely social. Its great! We have rounders, many social events outside of work, and we also have events like summer bbq or secret Santa.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its a very positive place to work, everyone wants to help build your knowledge and get you closer to being that engineering role. Also the work is never dull there is always something new to learn.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
A new job is always nerve-racking but honestly there isn't a better place to start as an apprentice. Just put yourself out there and be confident!
