Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I have worked alongside specialists in my chosen business area and became a member of the team, with graduate level responsibility. I was assigned to client projects to develop my understanding of what audit really do. There are opportunities to get involved in interesting projects outside of my daily work such as community volunteering. I have built networks with my colleagues and peer group. I found this a worthwhile investment of my time this summer.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. I have been assigned a variety of tasks during my internship, and I have learnt about different skills and knowledge about auditing. I really appreciate for my team members' trust and patience for coaching.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my communication skills and collaboration skills when work with my colleagues and peer group on specific clients. Also I have developed my presentation skills through Dragon's Den Challenge activities. I have learnt about how to use Aura and developed my Excel skills, also some calculation skills and so on.

My team member, career coach and buddy helped me and gave me guidance whenever I had a problem or confusion with my work. I really appreciate for their guidance.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I really enjoy the atmosphere in the office, colleagues are kind and friendly and will help me whenever I meet a problem. I found relaxed to work in here.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoy my internship in PwC. I have built very nice relationships with different people, and also improved my various skills. I have learnt a lot about auditing in practice work, which cannot be obtained from class and books.
