Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RAF to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The time spent during phase 2 training is very long and you are under strict rules which can be demotivating. Compared to working for a civilian company where you have more freedom and can achieve more pay for your time and are not required to live in base accommodation. A lot of what you are required to learn is not needed for the real world. However out of training is good and I would recommend to a friend if phase 2 was shorter.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RAF?
To put effort in to get through the course quickly by studying outside of work hours to pass exams first time to avoid getting put back increasing you overall time on the course.
If you can get through the training onto a first posting the it starts to pay dividends.
I would advise them to look at civilian apprenticeships aswell to compare the benefits before jumping straight it and make sure if you chooses the employer to research the whole process so you know what is expected of you.
