Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Call-outs for maintaining equipment as well as maintaining products sent into workshop.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy it very much, the onsite work I look forward to more than the college days. I get up with a sense of purpose and know I will walk into an enjoyable work day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned much about work on SiGe and how to fix pneumatic tools, disassembly and reassembly techniques, how to fix pipelines for gas and manifolds as well as how to stay safe while doing so.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Clearly structured and laid out and coaches know the right amount of checking in and contact and are not overbearing and not distant on matters.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have encountered personal medical issues that unfortunately popped up on my apprenticeship and everyone has been supportive towards it as well as supportive towards preparing me for work assignments with reviews at set intervals.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Plenty, it is not too complex in its nature and clearly set out. Most of this is onsite and on the job and as such I will use experience gained to give context to my qualifying submissions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it helps facilitate my training to work in my role in a structured and organised way.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Not yet, I have been offered one opportunity lately but I am not sure of my skill set being the right type for the role offered in this activity.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Training is intensive but well structured for me, the people I work with are helpful and understanding and take interest in my learning quality as much as I do. It is great to see my enthusiasm is mirrored by those willing to teach me.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be yourself and always look to learn, take interest in the little things and even the mundane and you will pick everything up and more in no time.
