Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My normal role involves working with care leavers aged 18-25. I would work to support the young adults to live independently and work to enhance independent living skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying it. I feel that others should really try and explore some of the other teams within the borough. Being able to study and learn through practice at the same time has been incredible, especially as I am a person who learns by actively doing the task.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to learn a range of new skills and work in a multi-disciplinary team. I can now complete assessments but also now understand the roles of different teams. I have been able to gain experience working with a new service group.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is structured very well and you know that you always have a supportive team around you. You are not just left on your own and the workplace really ensure that your learning is important and create the environment for you excel in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The apprentices have ongoing support from the employer. There are regular apprenticeship meetings and drop in surgeries. Managers and the supervisors from the placement also work hard to ensure that your learning matters. You are also given a range of activities to complete to support your learning on the job.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

You receive support from not only your tutor but have a practice tutor that supports you throughout your studies ensuring that you stay on track. There are a number of tutorials that you attend to support your learning as well as online tutorials that you can book yourself on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Being able to learn whilst on the job i feel is a much better experience than just full time university. You are able to take the learning and guidance from the university and put it into practice within the workplace. You are able to apply the theory and practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are social events and activities to get involved in. This will be down to personal choice for engagement. There are professional networking events held as well as networking events held for the apprentices within the whole borough to attend. This allows you to share your views together and support.
