Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as a Logistics Mover is to load/unload aircraft with cargo/pax safely and securely.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed the programme for the most part. I think like most people I found the paperwork side of the job a little boring but once we got into the practical elements I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Whilst working in Phase 2 of my training I’ve learnt on the job practical skills that I will later develop further on in my phase 3 training and beyond.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think the programme is structured well. I think getting the boring paperwork elements out of the way first is the best way to do it. Then once you start the practical stuff it gets a lot more interesting and exciting.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We get a lot of support from our employer. If ever I was stuck with something on the course at any point I thought my instructors were incredibly helpful and guided me in the right direction.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Like mentioned previously we get a lot of support. They help work through the criteria with us and help us hit it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think phase 2 training has really gave us a great foundation of knowledge to work on and to expand on going into phase 3 and beyond.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are extra-curricular activities to get involved in, however I think they could be explained to us better and in more detail.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RAF to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The RAF is a great place to work. You won’t find an environment like it. I would recommend anyone to join the RAF to help them become the best version of themself.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RAF?
The application process is long, with good reason. However, just stick with it and you’ll eventually get there. Try and get as fit as you can before you join, work hard and keep grinding through it.
