I've completed my Level 4 Learning and skills mentor apprenticeship with The Old station nursery. I have provided mentor sessions for our apprentices that are struggling with their early years apprenticeships. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Overall I've really enjoyed the programme. I've learnt about different mentor and coaching models and applied them to my mentor sessions. The programme has developed my self confidence and I am looking forward to becoming an accredited mentor!

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The training provider have given me 3 different tutors at the start which was difficult. However, the 3rd tutor I was given has been absolutely amazing. My job heavily links with the programme so logging off the job time was really easy.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive so much support from my employer. My wonderful team have supported me with all of my apprenticeship and have given me the time I need to get it finished. My line manager has presented me with lots of different CPD tasks and development opportunities with regular check ins.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider has been really supportive throughout my apprenticeship. The beginning was difficult with the change of tutors but the 3rd tutor has been brilliant and supported me all the way to my EPA. All the teaching sessions have been really engaging and I've learnt so much over the year.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

This qualification has given me the knowledge and skills to become a better mentor. I've learnt about the different types of mentoring and when it is appropriate to use these. I am now able to use reflection models to reflect on my mentor sessions. I have learnt to adapt to the needs of all of my mentees in each session.

The Old station nursery have provided me with the tools I need to support me with me L4 Learning and skills mentor apprenticeship. I've also been given the opportunity to mentor lots of apprentices across the 79 sites.
