Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
am involved in a significant project where I handle a variety of tasks such as reporting and updating management plans using software and cloud-based tools. My role includes participating in numerous meetings with different teams to track progress. Additionally, clients may request reviews of ongoing work and data presentations. My responsibilities also involve using Excel and other software to collect, update, and organize data.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have mostly enjoyed my program, and attending university once a week has significantly boosted my confidence by providing valuable knowledge. Occasionally, the work can feel a bit repetitive, but it's important for apprentices to proactively seek out responsibilities that lead to better outcomes and further development. Lack of clear learning path.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have acquired new skills in various management software and recording processes, and have enhanced my proficiency in Excel. Working on a major project has provided me with the opportunity to learn about contemporary construction methods. Additionally, it has boosted my confidence and communication skills through client interactions and meeting their requirements.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The emerging talent team has been fantastic, consistently offering support in all areas. I received an apprentice guidebook filled with useful information, particularly beneficial early on. Additionally, a training timetable was provided to help plan work effectively. While some projects take the time to properly introduce apprentices and create development plans, others I've worked on have felt more rushed in this regard and non existent. Would be better if more guided individual support was available.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The emerging talent team provides support and is always ready to help. Their communication is excellent, and most broader teams are willing to assist with any questions you may have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Support from my training provider has been lacking, with communication from university services often delayed or non-existent, leading to missed important information and experiences. My emails to the apprenticeship team have frequently gone unanswered, causing unnecessary delays and frustration. However, my skills reviewer has been helpful, providing guidance on how to complete apprenticeship documents.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Many of the modules of my construction management qualification have significantly enhanced my understanding of construction terminology and methods. This has been invaluable for comprehending aspects of my project and its methodology. My knowledge has grown, and I am able to apply several skills learned at university to my work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are some extra-curricular activities to participate in. Throughout the year, there are many volunteering opportunities, often undertaken by teams together, or you can choose your own cause. Mace offers various networking sessions, ensuring there's always something to do or get involved with if you wish.
