Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-day basis in my job role I take part in a morning meeting with my colleges in branch or over teams with the region and regional manager. Throughout the day I complete callbacks on existing enquiries and set up new enquires from ones I have received through walk ins, phone calls, emails and Facebook . I also take part in posting deals on Facebook and finding deals for us to put up in the window. Throughout the day I also complete bookings for enquiries and load them onto the system and take payments. I also do transactions in the foreign exchange now I have completed my AML exam which involves giving people currencies ensuring it is done correctly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learnt so many new skills as well as developing existing skills I have. These include developing my confidence massively and understanding much more about the travel and tourism industry and my knowledge on destinations and currencies. I have also learnt the best ways to sell to customers and the steps that takes.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My training program wasn't as organised in the beginning due to having to switch trainers a few times. Now we have a new trainer I find it a lot better to manage and it definitely has more structure.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my manger and colleges as they all help me to learn and want me to do well as well as I do. I find working with them supportive as it feels like we are all a team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive lots of support regards to working towards my qualifications as my trainers are always sending me updates and messages about new work I can do towards my end of year assessments and to improve how I work. They are able to get back to me quickly when I don't understand a task any may need help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Gaining my qualification will help me perform better in my role as I will be more knowledgeable on the industry and how we work at Hays Travel. I will have more knowledge to inform customers about questions they may ask me and I also will know the correct way to create good lasting impressions from the sessions I have learnt at training.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We are able to sign up for roadshows with tour operators and suppliers which can help us get more information about them as well as meeting people from other branch's. This helps to build relationships with colleges .

I would recommend this apprenticeship as I have found it incredibly interesting and have enjoyed working with my team and speaking to customers. It has always been a big passion of mine to work in the travel industry and Hays Travel has definitely fulfilled my expectations of what it would be like to work for them.
