Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as a train driver primarily is to operate trains safely and efficiently, adhering to strict safety regulations and procedures, in doing so I am able to transport the public to where they need to be safely, well informed and as punctual as possible.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It was difficult to get back into the state of mind that is required for doing an apprenticeship but overall the experience was enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to stay focused for long periods of time and mitigate the risks to lone working.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well structured and organised which was extremely helpful for me to stay on top of and progress through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As much support as I wanted, there were frequent meetings to see how I was getting on and for feedback for the work I had done, I was also made to feel that if I needed any further support then it was always there.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
All the support I needed, I was made to feel extremely comfortable to ask for help if I needed it and especially towards the end of the apprenticeship I was given frequent feedback and support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Admittedly to start with I was not sure of the necessity of the qualification as I would be doing the role regardless but as time progressed I found it to really help me maintain my knowledge and skills from the training school and has made me a better train driver.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
I am aware that there are social clubs and gaterings however i have yet to explore these further.
