The overview of being a travel agent at Hays Travel includes assisting customers in making travel arrangements, destination knowledge and providing exceptional customer service. I work closely with clients to allow a hassle free holiday and a smooth, enjoyable travel experience, manage travel-related paperwork, and help people get their travel money.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my experience at hays travel due to having the opportunities to interact with customers and bring their dream holidays to life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

While working as a travel agent with Hays Travel, I got the chance to learn and develop in the travel industry. I now possess in-depth knowledge of several locations. I have also learn many skills and developed previous skills such as teamwork and time management. I've also gotten better at providing excellent customer service, communicating, and paying attention to details, which allows me to offer clients personalised travel options.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Hays Travels programme is well planned and organised. They plan the training days well and gives us enough time to get the real life experience in the stores whilst learning as well. They help Apprentices to have a better understanding of the reservation systems, travel laws, and industry best practises, the organisation offers extensive training.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support I receive from my employers is amazing. Not just from my main employer but from my training if i ever need help in the sessions or in branch, and my co workers in branch
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from my trainers and I feel like they prioritise us when it comes to needing help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps identify the areas I need a bit of help and where to improve in my job role and helps me to work towards something.

There are outside of work training events and educational that we can apply for and we can get involved in charity work, either apart of the company or the branch.

Because it helps me learn in a more practical way in a positive work environment. It provides a lot of support for its employees and motivates us to hit our targets.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hays Travel?
Be yourself and have fun in the job. Don't be afraid to ask questions and go for every opportunity you can because there is such a wide range out there!
