Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my job role, I am responsible for booking holidays for customers, offering insurance, ringing suppliers for quotes for customers, doing admin and assisting customers on the phone.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy looking for holidays for people and I get satisfaction when a customer leaves the shop happy with what I have booked for them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to deal with customers better as it's a more customer facing role, I have developed my confidence when on the phone and have learnt how to deal with complaints in a calm manner.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Hays Travel Apprenticeships are very well structured, with a weekly training schedule where we learn about the different systems and suppliers. I also enjoy that training days on personal development as this has helped me in my job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my colleagues whenever I need help and it has helped me to develop into a better Travel Consultant.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support from my trainer in the weekly sessions when we are learning something new and also my trainer who marks all of my work and does my reviews.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think learning about different destinations and suppliers in the weekly training has helped me when it's come to customers coming in wanting different types of holidays.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Sometimes there are events on with suppliers that we work with where you can go and learn more about their company and also interact with other Hays Travel colleagues.
