Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently in design placement - assist in designing, testing, and improving mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. Daily tasks include CAD modelling, analysing data or suggested parts, and collaborating with engineers to optimize production efficiency and quality. i also learn industry standards and safety protocols.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

its been tough and at numerous points I would have benefitted from more support from the company

degree combined with learnings from placements at work provided all the knowledge that I use with my job and can take with me itno the future

How well organised/structured is your programme?

poorly, with poor communication to managers as to what work we as apprentices are expected to do. Organisation work is being carried out but is coming far too late for me

has improved greatly as program continued. Ultimately facing same issues and roadblocks as me

a good amount of support from course lead, but individual lecturers was worse

I have a good base of knowledge provided by qualification that aids me, but ultimately feel I would end up at similar level - I have worked with many people that have lesser qualifications but greater knowlede
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

STEM events, many sports clubs (climbing, running, touch rugby, badminton), reading groups, social events with teams
