Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am involved in assessing defined cost, regular cost reporting, maintaining forecast accuracy, assessing compensation events, and overall working towards the client's strict drumbeat.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme as I feel like I am gaining invaluable experience due to the level of responsibility I have been given so early on. It can sometimes feel a bit repetitive, but new challenges and problems do keep coming.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many skills including excel use, communication and effective cost reporting.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Overall in terms of working towards a degree and RICS, very well structured. However sometimes I feel there can be a lack of transparency around pay, and there can be a lot of change (internally) in terms of career progression.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have always had a great experience with receiving support from my line manager and my team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider can be a pain at times, with a lack of organisation and academic teaching quality.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
There are definitely things that I learnt at university that help with work and visa versa. I do definitely feel like I learn a lot more at work gaining the hands on experience than learning at university.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are monthly social events in our regional office that are enjoyable to attend. In terms of joining sports teams and having network events, I feel like this is something Mace can work on. Considering the size of the company, there aren't that many opportunities to go on away days and networking events to meet people across the business in different sectors and regions.
