Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
An overview of my job is that I sell holidays to customers daily, I support my shop through helping with admin, cleaning and making sure we have the most up to date brochures. I have a target each month for sales and I am responsible for my customers bookings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my program a lot, I get to talk to customers daily and I love building relationships and rapport with them. I enjoy working with my team in branch to create a fantastic work environment and I cannot wait for my future at Hays Travel

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Over the last 8 months I have learnt lots of new skills for example, I have improved my conversation skills. I have improved my sales skills and I have developed my existing knowledge of the Travel Industry and the products Hays Travel offers to customers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My program is very structured and organised. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 8 months of training in Warrington because I believe it has really developed my skills, knowledge and understanding of the apprenticeship. All the system training was before the "peaks" of January so I did not feel overwhelmed
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I receive from my employer is excellent, If I ever need support it is very clear where to look for the support and I understand who I can speak to for any additional help. My learning and development coach has helped immensely throughout my apprenticeship and I have a good relationship with lots of people in the company
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my training provider. The information they provide for how I can get to the end point assessment is very clear and I understand what steps I must take to complete my apprenticeship. Also, I find the reviews between myself, my learning and development coach and manager very helpful to understand my apprenticeship journey
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification through my training provider helps me perform better in my role because I have received lots of support through my apprenticeship and without the additional support I doubt I would be working as well as I am now.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at Hays Travel, I have attended lots of events whilst being an apprentice at Hays Travel. Some of these events consist of Attraction World, TIPTO and independently I have attended the Globe Awards in London

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Hays Travel to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would definitely recommend Hays Travel to a friend because you receive lots of support throughout the apprenticeship to become better at sales and working as a team. You receive a level 3 travel consultant qualification out of it which shows employers that you can sell holidays, understand the industry and much more
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hays Travel?
There are a few tips I would give to somebody applying to Hays Travel. I would tell them to keep up to date with the industry through reading Travel Weekly, TTG and BBC news to understand current affairs. I would tell them to try and maintain eye contact in their interview and research their research task which they are given when they apply.
