Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working within CCO I have been given the opportunity to work with different teams for instance, finance and treasury. I have conducted tasks including consolidating reports using both internal software as well as Microsoft excel etc. Moreover, as an intern we participated in a bootcamp working within a diverse team to create a unique product.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given tasks to contribute too as well as tasks that required me to take lead.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My line manager as well as the team in general have been extremely supportive. The culture within Barclays is amazing to be a part of and everyone is so welcoming and helpful- nothing is ever too much or a 'stupid question'. I also have a buddy and mentor who have been very helpful throughout the process.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Within Barclays the culture is amazing and very highly valued by all employees. During my internship I have had the opportunity to attend various events, the Glasgow campus has a large list daily/weekly for various reasons such as charity and sport.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship and it has given me a real insight into working within a bank. Moreover, I have gained experience and knowledge which will not only help within my university career but all my professional career.

What advice would you give to others applying to Barclays
For me the internship interview/ assessment centre process gave me an insight into Barclays culture as well as the internship. If given a place on the internship I would encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity even although you might not think it is for you. Additionally, the Glasgow campus is insane and an amazing place to work- you do not feel like your in an office the majority of the time.
